I am a clarinetist and have been playing for almost 8 years. I'm looking into getting a new Bb clarinet of professional quality. My personal clarinet is not good enough for auditioning for and playing in orchestras etc. Does anyone know where I can find a good review site, possibly with prices and instrument comparisons. I'm looking into getting a Buffet R13 but I need to know if it's worth spending $2,400 on or if there's one that's just as good but cheaper. Thanks!!

The R13 is the best clarinet that you could get short of paying 5000 to get a Tosca. If you want to go to a professional get the R13 I think you could find one for cheaper than $2,400 look around. Most importantly try as many as you can as the can vary in quality and feel so try as many as you can until you can find the R13 you want.

i have performed 'em - we've them on the faculty I from time to time artwork at. They reliable for pupil fashions, novices and per chance intermediate scholars. i could say they're "tremendous." no longer reliable for an advanced pupil or one which needs to play as a professional pastime or professionally.
