I usually soak my feet for about ten minutes in hot and soapy water. Then I use a pumice stone to rub away rough spots. You can also use scrub cleanser on them as well. Put lotion on a night time and if you able to, wear a pair of cotton socks over night. You may need to do this a few times before you start to notice a big difference or you can get a pedi and keep your feet up on your own after.

These answers are all true and correct but there is an even better solution. There is a professional tool for this purpose called a metal foot file. It is what you will find the pedicure shops are using. You can get one on Amazon. Mine is called the colossal pedicure rasp. File away on the dry foot, it may take several hour long sessions depending on the condition of your feet. The dead skin will come off in minuscule shavings. After each session lather the foot with a Vaseline or lotion and put on clean socks. Also good to try this on the hands as well, where calluses also build up. After a while of doing this you will find your hands and feet to be as smooth as a baby's bottom. Repeat as necessary.

Soak your feet in warm water for a while, but not so long that the water gets cold. Pat them dry and then rub them down with vaseline. Put on cotton socks overnight and in the morning, your feet will be baby soft. Do this for a couple of nights and all your rough and hard spots will be gone!

Get a pumice stone and use it to buff off the rough spots. This actually works best in the shower or bath once your skin has soaked up a little moisture. Then use a heavy lotion on your feet. Repeat regularly. You can put the lotion on before you go to bed and put them in socks, but I wouldn't do this too often or your feet may get itchy and wrinkly.

Go to the drugstore and pick up a pumice thing for feet...look in the footcare aisle. Use that on your rough spots (make sure your feet are dry), then wash your feet. After, use a cream (I like Gold Bond Medicated Cream for feet) , and wear white socks over your feet before going to bed. This should only take a week for pretty feet.

You have to wear better shoes. Nice quality shoes that don't press on your toes or heels. Also, if you'd like, every now and then, in your bath, use sugar and almond oil and rub your feet for a few minutes. Your feet will not only smell delicious, they'll feel great also.

Same works for the hands.

give yourself a pedicure at home

what you'll need:
a foot bath filled with warm soapy water, a foot scrub, pumis stone, a really deep moisturizing foot lotion, emery board, cotton, polish remeover, nail polish in the color of your choice

first soak your feet in the tub for about a half an hour, scrub with the foot scrub, & then file away the rough patches & calluses with the pumis stone.

dry your feet with a towel & rub in the lotion, be sure to rub the lotion deep into the skin.

file the nails by going straight across the nail (never in a back & forth motion, you'll cause splitting)

wipe the toe nails with a cotton ball dipped in remover to remove excess lotion off the nails

apply one to two coats of paint & let dry, you may want to use toe separators to keep your toes from touching

Lotion is a good idea at night. But, during the day your feet sweat and are rubbed inside your footwear. I suggest adding powder (such as Gold Bond) inside your socks. This will absorb the moisture and aid in softening the feet.

I had the same problem. It's that your feet are calloused from overuse! What you should do is purchase a pumice stone and after every shower/bath, scrub at them lightly with the stone. It may seem ineffective at first but done regularly and it will last longer than any other treatment!
