Not witnessed in person, but I did see him perform on television many years ago. Of course, anything can be faked, especially on TV, but it looked real and was an interesting program. However, Gellar did refuse to "perform" under lab conditions for Dr Rhine at Duke University. That's probably a bit suspicious, at least to me

Many years ago he was debunked by a debunker who showed on television how he was doing it.

Uri would stare intently at a spoon or key and have everyone focus on the item. Then he would inconspicuously lean forward to better concentrate. When played back you could see he was using his hands by momentarily grabbing the table or desk to move himself 'closer' to the spoon or key. In this motion he would 'bend the spoon or key' against the edge of the table or desk, then rubbing his thumb and forefinger against the key/spoon he would trick his audience into believing: Lo and behold! The key/spoon had bent!

Yep. One time years ago I decided to see if I could do it. I decided to really put my psychic powers to the test and really see if I had any. I picked up a regular kitchen fork and rubbed it and concentred very hard with all my powers on bending it for a long time. The fork didn't bend but I noticed that one of the inner tines was twisted about 180 degrees. I didn't remember if the fork was like that before I started, but I don't know how a tine could get twisted like that. It freaked me out and I haven't tried it again.

Uri Geller is famous for making you think that he is bending spoons. It's never really been disproven that what he does is anything more than a parlour trick. Charlatans the world over have been doing it for centuries.

Yep. In his act, he made it appear as if metal objects were bent and watches apparently stopped or ran faster without any apparent physical force being applied to them. Like many other people claiming psychic abilities, all of his demonstrations can be repeated by ordinary magicians. He has numerous critics, especially in the scientific community, who claim he is both a charlatan and a con-man.

I saw him on TV doing just this.... and lots of other seemingly psychic feats.... and having lots of people 'phoning in saying that their watch/clock had stopped when he was doing his exeriment... or started after being broken for years.

But I don't think this proves Uri has fantastic powers.

I think some of it is slight of hand, some auto-suggestion and some just tapping into the life-force - and much of hte stuff phoned in was either attention seeking... or people tapping into the same universal energy....

possibly he does those 'con tricks' with 'doctored spoons' etc. yet, how does he do it with 'those dropped at him?' How is it that possible 'others' unexpectedly look able to do the comparable element on an identical time as in his presence? i'm no longer announcing he's or isn't a Con, he easily is a 'Showman,' you will locate it 'turn on' in him while he's asked a query or to accomplish. i'm sceptical, yet, if Jesus have been to return, how might he have the means to illustrate himself so as that persons might have self belief him while he mentioned who he substitute into? while 'illusionist' possible 'disappeared' the Statue of Liberty, how might a actual person have the means to 'coach their self' to a international of television practised sceptics? Sash.
