Technology : beyond the computer?

I am doing a research on the issue above which is related to the classroom. Can someone please give me some insght along with some links to assist me.I need this information urgently.

The topic sounds like a discussion of future technology. I suggest you first think about the definition of technology. Many people today equate technology with computer, which is just a misconception. A trend of technology is the fusion of technology and the human body, the idea of cyborg. Technology is no longer about efficiency, it's about control and power. So where do we need control and power? Obviously in military, in politics, in our bio-physical life. So technologies in weaponry, communication/information, and biotechnology or medical technology are huge things.

I also encourage you to think about the long term effects (both positive and negative ones) that technologies might bring into the future. Environmental issues, moral issues, etc.

i'd say technology is anything humans come up to be more "effective and/or efficient". this includes cars, phone, tv, computers, vacuums, machinery, etc...
