Hello, my road test is this thursday and i am pretty confident i will pass as i have been practicing for the past two months with an instructor and family. i beleive that i am ready and have even practiced on the road that my test will be conducted on. The other part of me keeps thinking that i will fail. Here in WI you can accumulate no more than 25 pts. The only thing i struggle on is parallel parking. Not necessarily struggling but judging distance in reverse is odd for me. I keep thinking i am going to run up on the curb, that alone would disqualify me. Honestly i am a pretty good driver but my sister says i need to have more confidence in myself. I know the rules of the road but i am constantly second guessing myself. Anyone gone through this? Can you share with me your road test expereince?

What a GREAT question!
In my road test years ago...I only got a "B" because of my stops. At stop signs I would just do a strong yield and did not put the car at a full stop. My rolling stops was the only problem..watch out for that.
Parallel parking was extremely hard for me, luckily it wasnt part of my test, I dont think. But then, for 6 years I lived in a part of Michigan where the whole city is parallel parking - for the first year it was a nightmare until I got used to it. The trick is to pull up 1/2 way along side of the car in front of you and when you are backing up make the cut of the wheels sharp and then even it out...
Good Luck!!!!! and have alot of confidence in yourself...'fake it till you make it!'

confidence is all you need! when your confident, your not nervous about doing what it is your doing. If parallel parking is your biggest weakness, do what I did for my kids: Get the biggest vehicle possible and let them practice over and over and over again. evenutally they start to get it down. ( use a car that is wore around the edges though, they may hit the barackade a few times. Then when the time comes to take the test put them in a smallest car possible and they'll wip in there almost with ease.
P.S.- Who ever is teaching you will get a kick out it also!
- Also try having a conversation with the instructor when taking the test. It will help put you at ease and help your confidence.

Be confident and concentrate and listen very carefully to your instructions. Sometimes they won't have you perform parallel parking. I came from a country that had opposite road rules and driving on the left. But been confident and giving it all my best made me pass the first time. So good luck and hope you can make. If you fail it don't worry about it, so many people fail and its not only you.

I remember I was pretty nervous and even ran through a stop sign leaving the DMV. Yet I somehow managed to pass..... so as long as you don't run over someone or crash, you will pass.
