I'm not sure exactally what you're asking, but I'm going to assume you're talking about the two types of standard thought bubbles, the one with the dots leading to the bubble, and the one with the point widening into the bubble. The one with the dots is actually what we know as a "thought bubble". This is what is going on in the characters mind. The other one with the point is a "speach bubble" and is what someone is saying out loud. Hope I helped!

They are bubbles used in comics and cartoons to tell what the person is thinking or saying. If it is connect with little bubbles then it is a thought, and it it is a solid shape then it is conversation.

the bubble with bubble dots is only in thought, the bubble with a tail out of itself is spoken.
