Actually, i hadn't even thought of her for years. I grew up on the east coast, and my brother told me a story of how back in the 60s he and some of my older cousins were at this chicks house in the "olney" section of Philadelphia, and she was having a party. All the parents were freaked out because of a string of grusome murders were happening to teenage girls at the time... Well, the parties in the 60s as a teenager were pretty boring, so they played spin the bottle and told scary stories. In Philly, the row houses have rectangular cellar windows in the back, and my brother was in the middle of a story about the Jersey Devil, when they all heard a bang in the basement. Well, everyone screamed, of course, and laughed, and my brothers friend Mary, who lived in the house said it was just the basement window... the wind must have lifted it because it had a top hinge... so they all followed her as she said she was going to go "check it out", as she laughed an evil laugh... which made all the other kids crack up. She gets to the top of the stairs, so says my brother, and quickly turns around and says, "If i'm not back in 5 minutes, come get me!!" Well, she goes down, and my brother says they all heard a ghostly scream that made them all laugh nervously because they "knew" Mary was teasing them... but my brother says that all the hairs stood on end and he was freaked! So they all go down the stairs and the window is still banging, freaking them out further, and that's when, with a great scream, they saw Mary against the wall with a look of shock and horror on her face. My brother says that there was dry wall that her dad was putting up and that it was unfinished, and unpainted... There stood Mary, in rigamortis, frozen with eyes wide as if she was desperately clawing her way off the ground and on the wall. Some of her nails were bleeding and torn off... the others were still stuck in the wall. Something scared her so bad it stopped her heart. All the kids ran screaming upstairs, and my brother and his friends ran with them and went to the bathroom, because, he said, that they all had to suddenly go. So they go into the bathroom and one of my brothers friends is from england, and he is so freaked out he's saying over and over, "bloody mary, bloody mary..." and my brother told him to shut up, and that's when the lights went out, and Mary's image came into the mirror screaming and writhing as if seeing through the mirror behind my brother and his friends. He never saw anything because he said he ran out of there so fast... so, to this day, if you go into a bathroom, and say over and over, "bloody mary, bloody mary..." 13 or more times, that Mary will come and scream the scream of her death. Me and my friends did it, and let me tell you; it's true. Scariest fuckingthing i've ever seen in my life. I wouldn't advise any of you to do it... serious.

As hippoterry2005 said, the only bloody Mary I ever knew of was Mary Tudor, at least until I heard the urban legend of AIDS Mary, or sometimes called Bloody Mary.
It goes something like this.
A woman went on vacation and contracted the disease by a very handsome & attentive lover, only to learn that he intentionally infected his partners. She returned home & began to do the same for spite. She was so angry at her situation and she wanted to spread the horror as far as she could before she died.
Other versions of this story have the woman calling someone from a pay phone and when she reaches into the bin to collect her change, she sticks her finger on a needle which is infected & the same consequences are a result.
There have been court cases where convictions have been the result of such a heinous crime, so I'd have to say that I do believe this urban legend....to a degree. Just like history teaches us about the bloody reign of Mary Tudor, sometimes facts are really stranger than fiction.

On Halloween all my friends spent the night right and I got really pissed off by one who called me a chicken for not wanted to the the whole Bloody Mary thing right so I got so sucked up in my pride. I did it.
But being me I did it the smart way we went into the basement got all my dads tools, I got a big thick stick along with a pitchfork. We walked into my moms bathroom which is huge and we had the phone so with one push of a button it dialed 911.
So I looked straight in the mirror and said, "Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Blood Mary"
It was dark I mean about 10:00 right so we thought ok it's fake and we left and went to sleep al like 11:30 right. Well Everyone was sleeping and stuff when I suddenly heard my cousin who was in the party and from England, Evelyn. She had brought a chair in the bathroom and was yelling Bloody Mary like 20 times, she seemed like she was in a trance. Once i realized what she was doing I started to shake her and yelling over her, "Evey come on this isn't real! and all that trying to get her to stop. Suddenly she stopped and pointed to the mirror in horror which was right behind me. I turned around and there she was. She had these thick dark black hair and really dark eyes. By not the other girls were running in clinging to each other and screaming but I didn't hear them really. She waited a moment looking very pissed off and started screaming in the most unholy voice I've ever heard. She reached out and grabbed my arm. I swear in all my 17 years of living I have never felt anything colder. She started to pull me in put luckily one of the girl Aja had kept her weapon on her and beat Mary's hand and turned on the lights. Suddenly she was gone but for weeks later my arm always felt really cold no matter what. I even went as far and pouring candel wax on it but it still didn't burn or anything.
So yes it is true you just have to say it more then once. reading another response I guess it has something to do with British people.

That website does not summon Mary, that website is Snopes. besides. Wow. i haven't theory-approximately Bloody Mary in a protracted time! i grow to be in lady classes the 1st time I performed Bloody Mary and that grow to be in all likelihood lower back in 1990 or so. I admit i grow to be a sprint freaked out yet even on the time i did no longer have self assurance in it. yet i grow to be nevertheless scared somewhat, lol.

The only Bloody Mary I am aware of was Mary Tudor who was Queen of England just before Elizabeth 1.
She had lots of Protestants killed which is where she got her name.

Bloody Mary or Candyman. A wonderful folk tale, with no relation to fact. Scary movie (Candyman) though. Tony Todd was brilliant and Virginia Madsen was also lovely.

Absolutely. I like mine with extra tabasco!
kidding.
Wasn't that the saying when you looked in the bathroom mirror with the lights out and said her name 3 times...and then you would scare yourself in the mirror?

I believe there are certain elementals in this world as well as spirits. If you try messing with things you don't understand, I believe it's possible to attract something you don't want into your home.
