Why is my battery on my Dell Inspiron 2500 so short? It only has about 15 min. of power without the cord.?

I have an older Dell laptop, and the battery lasts 2 hours, you should let it die, and then re-charge it for 24 hours, if it keeps doing the same you should change the battery, because it is too old.

Sounds to me like it's defective and needs replaced. If it's fairly new, may want to check on warranty.
