At what age is it still cool and groovy to wear stripey socks, and when does it just get scary.?...why is it that 3 year olds get to have all the funky outfits?

unless you want to look like Grotbags from the Emu shows, leave it to the kids

Stripey socks are never cool. But you should wear whatever you feel happy wearing, the age is not an obstacle.

Like me, I like wearing manga t-shirts and I am 25. I don't have any problems with that, because I really enjoy wearing them. And if somebody doesn't like it: Am I bothered?

NO!

it's not that you get too old to wear groovy socks--you just need to know "when" to wear them--work and weddings would be a no--and 3 year olds wear whatever is put on them--that's why you grow up and buy groovy socks--because you can!

I don't know how old you are, but I know my aunt wears funky socks and shes 60 and they look good. What does age have to do with it anyway, dress how you feel comfortable, and have fun doing it.

You are always too old for stripey socks (or any patterned socks for that matter)

There is a fine line between "Pippi Longstocking" and "child-eating crone in the gingerbread house".
