We all hear about child prodigies and adult geniuses....but are there adolescent prodigies? Or even adolescent geniuses?
It is not something that you find on the internet.
All you see about teenagers on the internet is how depressive they are and how irresponsible they are with alcohol and drugs.

There certainly are. Prince is a good example of an adolescent prodigy. He came from a background of music through both parents. He taught himself. His talents are god given, and he is a genius. His 1999 album was simply prophetic. His Purple Rain was beautiful. He has done so much to and for the world of music, and style, that he is a poster child for child prodigies. His talents can only be likened to those of Beethoven.

My daughter is in the gifted program, and has been since 1st grade. She tested with the highest scores in kindergarten. She is currently in 7th grade, but her reading score is one of the highest in the state of Illinois. She is currently reading at a high school level.

I think I am an adolescent prodigy. I just skipped a grade and am reading on college level reading material. When I was in 4th grade I had the highest F-CAT scores for the entire school, and I was in the Gifted Program from 1st grade - 5th grade (then I was home schooled and mom would have had to drive me an hour both ways to go to one class every day, so we decided no on gifted classes).

I think they get lumped in with the child prodigies.
You can find more positive things abut teens on the Internet, but the headlines that jump out at you are the negative ones.
