It varies: What you get would depend on the employer. Some employers might give certain workers (management) certain hours, paid holidays, paid vacations, retirement benefits, health care, and sick leave and workers of another classification (cooks, dishwashers, maids and janitorial workers) less benefits or no benefits. Wages might be paid monthly, bimonthly, weekly or hourly. You agree to it when you are hired.
Some workers bargain directly and make their contract with the employer when they are hired.
If you are in a labor union, the union would bargain for those benefits and it would be in the contract between the labor union and the employer. The labor union would be responsible for enforcing the contract in that case.
You need to ask your employer right away so you can get a clear understanding what you have. Is this a large enough company where they would have a personnel policies manual? See if they have copies for employees.

if you get paid hourly, you are likely not to get paid sick days unless you are full time and part of a union. Most places only give you sick days with salary. You'd have to check the places you go.

If you get sick leave through work then yes you would get paid. Usually when you first start a job you have to wait for your leave to build up. Most jobs give 4 hours of leave per pay period but it depends on the company. If you dont get leave then you just take leave without pay.
