Okay yesterday I had a question because I am in labor, but not real active labor. As for this being my second child I'm not going to bother calling my doctor b/c I know how she works, and I know I'm in labor, just not enough to go to the hospital. What are some natural ways to help my labor increase? Last night I cleaned my downstairs and the contractions increased for a little bit. I couldn't sleep worth a crap though, and I woke up a few times while drifting off feeling sick. I cleaned my upstairs this morning and it increased for a while again. Are there any foods that can help? Walking didn't work last night too. And that nipple thing is a joke for me, it hasn't worked yet. Please any suggestions would be appreciated. And NO i'm not trying caster oil. I am just so worn out and would like to have this child sometime soon(like tonight)!

I feel you pain... my step daughter was due yesterday and still nothing... but she won't try all this stuff..

Blue and black cohosh
Spicy food
Castor oil
Sex
Walk
Eggplant Parmesan
Evening Primrose Oil and Red Raspberry Leaf Tea

Acupressure/Acupuncture (There are two points on your body that will cause uterine contractions. They are always warned against during pregnancy, though they are widely believed to be another labor inducing method that will not work if you are not already ready to deliver. These points are about four finger-widths above the inner ankle on your calf, and in the webbing between your thumb and forefinger. You will know when you've found the spot because it will be very sore. You rub your calf, or pinch the webbing on your hand, in a circular motion for 30-60 second at a time, taking 1-2 minute breaks in between. )

Another thing that may help is reading other post on Yahoo answers about the same thing.. maybe someone else has a good idea... http://answers.yahoo.com/search/search_result;_ylt=Aln4NRFSBJWJdXoxXEGqKpIjzKIX?p=labor+induction

You know with my fourth child I was not in active labor and I have fairly quick labors. Anyway the reason my little one was not coming or the labor was not progressing is her little head was off to the side. When they put me in the Jacuzzi tub and the jets hit my back well let's just say I went from a one to a ten in literally seconds! I had her in ten minutes.
So just keep walking but if you start to feel too miserable tell they to do an ultrasound and make sure the head is in the right place!

Aww honey I'm sorry. When I used to be 15 we moved & I used to be hated it, I simply desired to return dwelling. But It's simply a further bankruptcy in lifestyles, the whole thing has it is alterations. If you stayed within the identical spot endlessly, lifestyles could'nt deliver you any new stories. You would nonetheless see your boyfriend, you are ancient ample for a bus price ticket & it is not that so much cash, you move to him for a weekend, or he would take the bus to come back see you for a weekend and so forth. Work with what you have got. =) When I first met my boyfriend, I used to be 500+ miles away & he lived in Canada! We spent a complete yr at the cell, pc & sending matters again & forth earlier than we labored matters out to reside in combination. It's been four years & I would not difference a factor. Spending time aside offers a courting which means. The conversation is well, & if he relatively loves you, he will stick via you regardless of how some distance you're. All the satisfactory

Honey your going to deliver very soon. What you are doing the cleaning and such is called nesting. You are creating a nest for the baby. Seeings how this is baby number 2 I would bet you did the same thing you did with baby number 1. You cleaned and cleanred and claend right into the hospital.

Keep doing that. Do the laundry!!. Above all keep moving.

I'm in the same boat, was due last Monday!! I've tried EVERYTHING (castor oil twice, breast pump, sex, walking, spicy food, squats) but still nothing. I'm dialated to 2 cm and 75% effaced and apparently there is nothing that really works until the baby is ready to come out. If you are past your due date, talk to your doc about induction. I'm being induced on WEDNESDAY!!! I know how you feel...absolutely miserable. I'm never doing this again! Good luck!

I remember this point...my doctor told me semen can help stimulate the cervix....when one is desperate enough, one will try anything....

I don't recommend it...it's a joke. There's way too much baby in the way for anything else, if you get the idea. ;-)

Just keep walking around, stay hydrated, and don't eat much (not that you probably feel like eating anyway)

Good luck!

Have sex, they say if conditions are ripe the sperm has prostoglandins in it that could trigger labor. I know that might be kinda hard at 9 months but I would give it a try.

Spicy foods help. Also you can have sex as long as your water hasnt broke yet. That is supposed to speed things up. Also move around as much as you can.

Hmm, since you're already tired, I really think you should try to take it easy and conserve your energy for when you're really going to need it (PUUUUUUSSSSSSHHHHH!) You're already in labor, you don't need to jump start it, so rest as much as you can, since you didn't sleep well last night.
