Actually, I think more and more employers don't think it is the easy way out. I got a certificate and I live out in LA and now I have a pretty good job. It's really easy to get started and it fits into your schedule because it really is online and through email and forums. I'd suggest this site as a starting point universityofphoenixdegree.com. Good luck

Not really, to be honest. A small-time employer might not mind it, but any "real" business will want a student that has completed a 4-year degree at an accredited university with a long standing reputation.

UPhoenix is an internet school that is fairly new and it probably doesn't have the faculty or the students to give it any measure of prestige.

With that said, any education is better than no education. You can probably still get a better job with a UPhoenix degree than you could without any degree.

Does this help?

It's actually a complicated question with a complicated answer set, however I'll try to be brief. Several reports from major news sources and magazines have recently questioned the validity of an online degree, however they were speaking primarily of institutions that were online only or had an online only perception. If you get an online degree from an accredited, traditional university such as Boston U., South U., Argosy U., Drexel, Art Institutes, etc... your degree will come from that institution just as if you went to school on campus. Phoenix unfortunately tends to have a negative perception with HR Directors, however if your goal is to get an online education, you may just want to research multiple online opportunities from institutions that can give you that campus diploma.

I don't see why not, esp. if you choose a good school. First, check out the school's accreditation, before you fork out any money. It is admirable if a person can work and at the same time, achieve a degree, online or otherwise. Future employers will be impressed that you "took the bull by the horns" and improved your status. They know how difficult that is. By demonstrating this ability, future employers will know that they are hiring a good, dependable employee.

Yes. Employers will look favorably upon UofP. Not every one on-line is as good, and it won't be a substitute for Yale or MIT...but it meets the litmus test to get you past HR.
