That is a sweet name. Why do you want to rename him?? It is wonderful that he is your best friend. How sweet. I just saw a box turtle in the woods yesterday and thought about how lucky I was to cross his path. You get to see your turtle everyday...you are fabulously lucky!!!

try these names

My turtles' names are:

1. NIKKI, adult female FRB - For some unknown reason, ALL turtles caught on fishing trips in my childhood had the same name.

2. BLACKIE, adult male " - He has beautiful black and yellow stripes on his shell and skin.

3. GUM LOONG (=Chinese for GOLDEN DRAGON) - adult female Reeves - Her shell appears 'golden' whenever she comes out of the water to bask.

4. LOONG LOONG (=Chinese for LITTLE DRAGON), aka LITTLE GODZILLA - adult male " - His face reminds me of "Little Godzilla" from those Japanese "Godzilla" movies.

5. SUNNY - adult SP - He's always the first to bask, also loves to be on top of a basking 'pile-up'.

6. SPEEDY2, SP hatchling - very fast diver, reminiscent of 'SPEEDY1', an adult female SP, that died of unknown causes a year ago.

7. RACY2, " " - also very fast diver, reminds me of another hatchling I lost 7 years ago.

8-9. MULDER & SCULLY , aka THE X-TURTLES, DB terrapin yearlings - named for being very curious about my every move, always 'on the lookout' for a "goody".

10. SPOT, aka PÜNKTCHEN (=German for "LITTLE SPOT/DOT"), Spotted turtle hatchling - named for obvious reasons.
