my friend and i often like the same guy and some times we have friendly compitition but what if i really want to go out with this one guy but i don't want to rurin our friendship we're really good friends.

well, if you really love your friend and if you would do anything for her just give him up, because there are plenty other boys out there. friendship should be more important than some boy. my best friend gave up some boy for me b/c i was in love with him. that just showed how much our friendship meant to her. so u just think about it and make u'r own choices. always think about the end results of choice that you make, even if they are small choices.

It sounds like you two are too enmeshed. Just tell her ‘this one is mine.’ If she doesn’t respect that then you may have to rethink your friendship.
