As everyone else said get a tennis racket, I usually use prince, for i would start with oversize raquets it makes it a little easier for u to hit the ball, before taking lessons to give urself a headstart make sure u know the basics, like how to call the score and the lines of the tennis court, and which balls are in or out in singles and doubles. than find a coach,(usually people tend to take classes but take private lessons because than u have someone TEACHING u how to hit the ball), look for a club near by and try out a coach and if u dont' like that coach go find another that suits u fine, and make sure u stick with that coach cauz different coaches teach different things. since ur a beginner i would not compete yet learn to hit the ball and get the basic strokes and when u can hit a serve around 60 mph ur definately ready or with ur strokes too. if u want to play tennis and make ur #1 sport than make sure u practice each and every day after ur coach teaches u, and u will be good within a year and a half

It depends on how old you are and where you live. But odds are you have many tennis courts close to you, and all it takes is a trip to some sporting goods store and buy a racket that will cost like 20$. And then some balls that cost like 5, and you can just use regular gym shoes. And then just find someone who doesn't mind spending 25$, or just sign up for some park district stuff around your neighborhood or go to a club. It isn't hard, and there are many levels for tennis players no matter what age.

Id love to say just grab a racket and some balls and get out there on the courts or to hit against a wall but itd be wayyyyy to frustrating. Your best bet would be to find your nearest tennis pro (teacher/instructor) and see what you can do about leassons, that way you can make sure you are learning the proper tecnique. Learning the wrong technique is suchhh a pain if you start to really get into tennis and eventualy have to relearn the proper way. Good luck.

Well first things first buy a tennis racket and some tennis balls. Once you have that find out about tennis courts around your area. Or even better build a tennis court in your ery own yard! (well if your rich that is.) Ok go to a court and hit around. Get used to the racket and get used to the feeling. Once you have that felling try a online search for tennis tips, print them out or just bookmark them and maybe just maybe you'll be a champ!

Of course, buy a racket. It doesn't have to be the most expensive if you are a beginner, getting some tennis balls would not hurt.
If none of your friends play tennis, go to a local tennis park and get lessons so that you get to an acceptable playing level. There you will meet other players or they usually have a board where you can put down your name and find partners who play at your level.

buy a tennis racket, some tennis balls, and some sneakers. Go to the USTA's web site to find someone to play with or coach you.
