Just be yourself and dont worry about making friends in the first day. you have more important things to worry bout your grades and your classes like how are you going to pass them OK

First days are always tricky, but the easiest thing to do is be yourself. Because it will be the first day however, there is no need 2 try to become noticed, or get in good with the other kids. All your really gonna do is get some papers to give to your parents, maybe go to an assembly, eat some lunch, and see your homeroom. Once your in your homeroom, though, that's when you should tone it down a bit. Don't say to much, just observe your surroundings. Like who's cool, who's nerdy, who you think might be a good friend, etc. After that just try to figure out where you fit in. The real challenge begins on the second day of school. That's when you meet all your teachers, all possible friends, all possible enemies, and your locker. And you get homework. So be prepaired for homework most of all.

P.S - during lunch on the second day, try to find the quickest route to all of your classes, it will come in handy

Make sure you dont do anything embarrassing.

Step 1: Nod and smile to people as you walk along the halls.
Step 2: Say "hi" calmly and respectfully when you hear it said to you.
Step 3: Be polite in picking a seat, ask if it is taken.
Step 4: Make sure you get to class when about half the people are there already, that way you don't look like a nerd getting there early, and you don't look like a loser who can't find his classes.
Step 5: Try to pay attention to the teacher the first couple of days and don't get caught staring at the pretty girls.

im going to a new school to this year. the best thing is just be prepared for whatever could happen. i would not suggest taking the bus the first day. try to establish friendships by saying hello. if you are the new kid people will want you to join there group of friends so be open to everyone and do not get involved with just one group. play the field and get to know how will be the best companion.

Concentrate on your studies, and don't be friends with the first kids that come along. Stand back long enough to observe what everyone is about. Be friendly, but don't get pulled in to alliances that may get you in trouble just to be liked, or to fit in. Good luck- I'm sure you will do fine.

I'm going to a private school next year so I'm in kind of the same boat. I'd say just be yourself. Don't do anything different than you would at your old school.

Everyone's going to say "be yourself", but just try to relax, don't picture this as an obstacle, or an possible impending problem, this is a new and exciting opportunity, so be cool, have fun!
