It was the kick-off game of Barcelona: on Tour 2006. They came to the US to play three games. So it wasn't a league; just a friendly game. It was a tie, 1-1. Both teams are just getting their teams ready for their respective seasons.

Chivas Guadalajara is in the Mexican league, while FC Barcelona is in the Spanish league. That was an international friendly match. It was an awesome game that ended 1 to 1. That was Barcelona's second game in their gira (tour) through Mexico and the U.S. Their first stop was in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico in the Universal Stadium (Estadio Universitario). They beat Tigres UNAL 3 to 0. Their next game will be this Wednesday in Houston, Texas against Guadalajara's worst rival, Club America. Their last stop will be in New York City. They'll face the newest team in the MLS: The New York Red Bulls, live from Giant Stadium. The game will be on Saturday.

It wasn't a league game, just a friendly. Chivas of Guadalajara are in the Mexican league, and Barca are in Spain's. This game had been scheduled a while back, with the contract that required Chivas to play their top players.
In playing this friendly, Chivas lost their season opener against Toluca as they fielded a reserve team at best.
