They are generally known as 'Home Care Attendant', but in recent years there have been several variations in the title.

Such as: Home Care Specialist, Personal Care Attendant, home health Aide, Respite Worker, etc.

If you're in Canada they're known as Personal Support Workers aka psws. They also may be refered to homecare workers or homemakers.

Different for each province and state I think.

They are called caregivers or CNA's (Certified Nursing Assistants) or mental health aides. Sometimes foster parents do this also.
