it is the flow of carbon and energy through both the natural living web of life and the abiotic atmospheric cycles. Basically, sunlight creates weather and drives photosynthesis in plants. The energy from the palnts is dispersed to the biosphere where it supports all life, and eventually leads to decay. The carbon is returned to the earth and ready tobe used again. Sorry my grammar is horrible nad ihavent studied this stuff in a while.

The carbon cycle is the biogeochemical cycle by which carbon is exchanged between the biosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere of the Earth. Other bodies may have carbon cycles, but little is known about them. All of these components are reservoirs of carbon. The cycle is usually thought of as four main reservoirs of carbon interconnected by pathways of exchange. The reservoirs are the atmosphere, terrestrial biosphere (usually includes freshwater systems), oceans, and sediments (includes fossil fuels). The annual movements of carbon, the carbon exchanges between reservoirs, occur because of various chemical, physical, geological, and biological processes. The ocean contains the largest pool of carbon near the surface of the Earth, but most of that pool is not involved with rapid exchange with the atmosphere.

The cycle from all aspects of the world...if you could tag carbon you could watch it slowly travel from air to plant to animal (or animal to animal) to decomposition to soil and thru again and sometimes goes into a carbon sink which means it is stuck for quite a long time from the cycle

Carbon cycling is movement of carbon element from one life form to other and atlast returning to their original form so that cycle completes.
