Let's see George Bush Invaded a Country with no plan to win the peace, alienated many traditional allies, ran up huge budget deficits, violated the constitution, spied on Americans civilians without a warrant, tortures people and amassed a heck of a lot of executive power by claiming that Article 2 of the constitution allows him to do whatever the heck he pleases as long as he mouths the words "national security."
While Kofi Annan is the head of an international organization that has basically no power and the US can veto pretty much anything major the UN can do that the US doesn't like. Yeah, I can see how "the left" really needs to spend less time denouncing George W. and more time talking about Kofi. He is after all, guilty of so many misdeeds and abuses of power that dwarf in comparison to the President. But fine, if Kofi is guilty of such things (and the word of a Republican is so very, very indisputable these days) I denounce him vigorously.

Because Kofi Annan is not our President. Whatever misdeeds Annan may have been part of, he is not a total embarrassment and disgrace to the United States the way Bush is.

There is little need for American liberals to address the election choice of the United Nations, where representatives from around the world selected their leader. This doesn't mitigate his deeds or misdeeds - it simply is a moot point, because there's not one thing America or Americans COULD do about Kofi Annon being the Secretary General of the UN even if we wanted to.
George W, on the other hand, is a person that we can hold accountable for every criminal act, every lie, every misdeed he has committed under the color of office and that he omitted from his resume before being hired for his job.
Your question is tantamount to asking, "Do you walk to work or take your lunch?" Neither are related to the other.

Because Kofi Annan does not run our country. He is not responsible for sending our troops into a war that never needed to be fought. He did not drive our economy into the ground. He did not give his buddies at Haliburton use of our troops and their protection is Iraq, when most of them are over there without proper body armor. He did not alienate our country from its allies.
He did not create an organization like Homeland security which mismanaged billions and lined their pockets. He did not sit back and wait while an impending storm destroyed a city- which still is a shambles.
Hmmmm, if you call making people responsible for their actions demonizing, that's new to me. I thought it was just being responsible. If I managed a business like he does the country it would be bankrupt by now.

By Liberals? You must be mistaken. It is also his Conservative base that can not agree with his policies & procedures. As well as the UN because there is no good reason for backing Israel--a country who has never even signed the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty. (Did you know that?) Also about 70% of muslim countries do not agree with Israel. GWB is "OUR" leader. Kofi is the UN leader. Both are crooks, in their own right. Bush takes our tax money to "create" an unconstitutional war, based on false pretenses, that is no longer backed by the American people, or many in Congress, who have paid the taxes, that he is stealing), to keep us in a war that is no longer feasable or in our best interest.

I'd like you all to understand something (especially those who say the UN and Kofi have no control over the US): liberal Democrats in this country have systematically tried to turn the US over to UN control. Clinton was the chief advocate of this. The UN is currently trying to pass resolutions (that we will hopefully ignore...again) to ban the private ownership of guns in the US and pass a direct tax on US citizens. That's right folks...they want to take away our ability to defend ourselves first then tax us when we can't resist. So there's your "no UN control" in the US. And if the Dems win a majority in Congress or the White House in 2008, that's exactly where we are headed. UN control. And you people think Zionists are bad. Just wait.

As far as I know, Kofi Annan did not cause the death of 100s of 1000s of people all over the world.
And he did not drive his countries economy down the drain
And he did not increase global warming and terrorism
And he did not cause oil prices to double for a family vendetta.

Kofi Annan is not our 'elected (?)' leader. Our constitutional rights include being able to redress government for our grievances. Why do conservatives have such a hard time with that? It's right in the first amendment, you don't really even have to read that far...

Because thats just the way they are. They are hypocrits and will do and say absolutely ANYTHING to show Bush as evil and wrong. Its in thier blood because they want thier party in control. They just want the power. Im telling you, when we get a Liberal in office, this country is in for some big grave trouble. Everyone thinks Bush is doing horrible?! Just wait. You havent seen anything yet. These dumb liberals have no plans on how to make the world peaceful and few plans on all they attack Bush for doing or not doing. Liberals cover up or hide thier own wrong doings but are like cobras when it comes to going after this administration. They spread lies and propaganda. I can only hope us Americans are not too blind to see this
