Apparently, I am threatening my husband in my sleep, and cussing him out, is this normal, and how can I stop this from continuing or escalating to something worse?

Perfectly natural. You've got a stranger living inside you, your body is changing, your hormones are jumping, and IT'S ALL HIS FAULT! You may not think that way consciously, but your dreams are playing out your darkest thoughts. No matter how much you want this baby and love your husband, the feelings are still there. Your doctor may be able to give you something that will help you relax in your sleep without hurting the baby--maybe something herbal, or some biofeedback or something (I don't know much about any of that). When I was in labor, I nearly broke my husband's hand, not because of the pain of the contractions, but because I wanted to KILL him for putting me through this! I got over it, love him dearly, and 25 years later I haven't killed him yet!

LoL. sounds like you have some built up anger towards him or something. Maybe you need to talk some stuff out (i dont know if you go to bed angry after a fight or something)... but that could be it. As for the dreams, all women who are pg have strange dreams. Its normal.

Maybe hubby should sleep on the couch for a bit and let the momma have the bed! Maybe you're just feeling cramped for space and blankets

Good Luck!

Dear Jenni,

I doubt it will escalate to something worse in your dream state, but you might consider seeing a counselor to see if the dreams are being caused by realized or unrealized and unresolved anger towards your husband.

My wife is pregnant, and she has crazy dreams and talks in her sleep too - apparently, that part is normal.

p.s. Given your last question on your husband, the couch potato, and his ex-s, I would think that a counselor would be useful.

Vivid dreams are very common during pregnancy due to the excessive hormones. So it is normal. Maybe you can explain that to him and he can help you relax and calm down when this happens, he should understand. A cup of chamomile tea before you go to bed should be good also because it really helps me. It relaxes me and takes a lot off my mind and leads to a more peaceful sleep state. Try that.

Weird things when you are pregnant are normal. Tell your husband to laugh at you for talking in your sleep. It is doubtfult that you can make it stop. It may stop on its own.
