When less than 10% of anybody says anything, that' not a strong indicator.

That being said, predicting civil war in the middle east is like predicting weather in New England. Too many variables to do any kind of long-term prediction with accuracy.

But two things remain sure in both situations. Things won't always be calm and sunny, and at some point in the process it's going to really heat up.

The Iraqi's have been saying there is a Civil War in Iraq for quite some time now. I think they would know.

Generals are only going to say what Rumsfeld will allow them to....until they retire anyway.

Those two generals know of which they speak. I'd say thay have a better than average chance of being right.

That's why we leave elected officials to make the decisions. Generals are there to execute battle-plans, not to act as statesmen.
