Okay, there seems to be 2 questions here. Or at least what I see. First, the reason you are breaking out is its probably your bodies way of getting out the chemicals. Unfortanutely, it comes out in sweat and you skin is senistive to it and is reacting with the Rosacea.
Second, I have been diagnoised first, with Rosacea and then I saw another dermatologist and she said that its Seborria Dermatitis, which is almost the same thing. I will tell you what they told me to do and what they prescribed for me. With the Rosacea: Rosac face wash and Roaula face cream. Both are a sulfur type medication. Then for about 6 weeks, I took Tetracycline (an oral antibiotic). Both worked well for that. Now, with the Seborria Dematitis, I use the same wash and cream, but I don't take the Tetracycline, but Minocycline, which is a little bit weaker and I don't have to take it the same amount of time, or the same dose, but only about 2 weeks at a time, just to keep it from flaring up. With the Rosacea, the bumps hurt and it does look bad, and I don't know about you, but for me it burned like hell, if I went too long between washings. I would go to see a dermatologist, if you aren't already seeing one, and ask about those brand name meds. or something similar. I know that its hard to do, but don't touch the spots unless its to wash or put on the cream. That actually makes them worse and hurts more. Watch out for your hair line (where your hair stops growing on your head: face, behind the ears, nape of your neck) and INSIDE your ears for spots too. If you have it in your hair, use a shampoo for Seborria Dermatitis or Psorasis, like head and shoulders, T-Gel, Demorax and then I use Olux (clobatisol) mousse. If you have any spots in your ears, just put some of the medicine on a qtip, and rub it in your ears. That will keep it down and help with the itch.

Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.
In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.
Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.
In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.
If you would like to learn how to treat your acne permanently and regain your health and wellbeing, without drugs, without typical acne treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

I have or should I say HAD roseacea. When it first flared up I didn't know what the hell was happening to my face. My once beautiful clear white skin was now fire engine red, bumpy and looked like I got a windburn..it had dry paptches. This was strange cause I always had oily skin up till this happened. SO after 6 months of trying everything I gave in and went to a dermaotologist who told me what was going on. I took 250 mg of tetracycline every day and eventually stopped after it was under control many months later. BUT the thing that cleared it up was the Metrogel which you use at bedtime. ALso try Eucerine redness relief as a mosturizer. This stuff is green but vanished on the skin and the red actually goes away. Your skin will once again be a normal color! ANd the Metrogetl should help with the burning. If your drs won't let you try this stuff, find another dr! Metrogel is the only thing that really helped the roseacea. I don't know what to tell you about the Peripheral N. But the above is how to contrl roseacea! Good luck!

my face starting breaking out (mostly on my chin) when I was in my late 20's due to PCOS factors (hormonal imbalance) I tried everything, went to the dermatologists, nothing worked--or if it did it was short-lived and dried my face out til it hurt!! So I ordered Murad Solution from an info-mercial--that didn't work either!! So on my last attempt, I ordered Proactive from the TV--and lo and behold, it worked!! I have used it for about 8 or 9 yrs or so.
And I love it--I recommend it to everyone, the only time I break out now is when I get lazy and don't use it everyday ( I only use it once a day, not twice)
I hope you try it, what else have you got to lose, and think of all of the pain and money and embarassment this will save you!!
Good luck.

RE:
Why do narcotics cause my face to break out?
I have been prescribed oxycodone, codeine, methadone, Fentanyl and a few other opiod/non-opiod combination medicines for pain in the treatment of a complicated nerve/skin disease. The quickest way to sum it up; Peripheral Neuropathy combined with Rosacea, and that is to say that my face always...

You should definitely see a dermatologist and give him or her all of this information along with your documented medical history.
In the meantime, use products from one product line (or brand) formulated for sensitive skin. If your skin ever becomes extremely inflamed or painful, use a medicated cooling aloe vera gel to cool, calm, and relieve any pain in the area.
-You will need: Cleanser, Toner (or Astringent), Cotton Balls, Moisturizer, Mask (or Masque), and either a facial steamer or hand towel for steaming.
-Recommended products for sensitve skin:
Extra Gentle Cleanser. Alcohol-Free Toner, Moisture for Sensitive Skin. Neutrogena Deep Clean™ Gentle Scrub, Neutrogena Clear Pore™ Cleanser/Mask
-Morning and night (before going to bed): cleanse, tone, and moisturize
-Once a week: cleanse, tone, steam, exfoliate, tone, mask, tone, moisturize.
-How to: *
Cleanse -use a small amount and lather with water, apply using circular motions all over face and neck, repeat if you have makeup on
Tone - Apply a small amount onto the cottonball and wipe all over face and neck
Steam - for 5-10 minutes, use one of these methods - facial steamer, hold your face 3-5 inches above steaming water, or drape a hot towel over your face (leaving your nostrils and/or mouth exposed) - steam for less time if your skin becomes irritated
Exfoliate - follow the same steps as in cleansing, but don't repeat
Mask - apply mask evenly on face and neck, leave for 10-15 minutes, remove by draping a hot towel over your face, then wiping away
Moisturize - apply a small amount on face an neck and massage until it's absorbed
*In all of these steps, always avoid the eye area.
~VITAMINS/MINERALS, DIET, & EXCERCISE~
Each day, include a multivitamin for women and try to maintain a fairly healthy diet and exercise routine. Also see this site about vitamins and the skin: http://www.prevention.com/article/0,5778,s1-5-53-156-3879-1,00.html. If you take any of these vitamins in addition to your multivitamin, be sure you aren’t going over the recommended dosages.

because its poison/toxins your putting in your body. whether its prescribed or not. your body doesnt know this. drink alot of vitamins and drink alot of water. drink pomegranite juice-its got the highest amount of anti-oxidants. also your meds can cause stomach irregularities and that can have an effect on your skin. if your constipated-that stuff in your system will come out through your pores. people have to take care of themselves from the inside out first and worry about the cosmetic stuff second. good luck. also-you could be having an allergic reaction to your meds.
