a uti or urinary tract infection comes from bacteria that gets blocked in the urethra...the bacteria can get there from some of the following:
wiping in the wrong direction after urination
sitting too long in tight unbreathable pants or underwear
sitting in wet bakini bottoms or bathing suits too long
having sex with someone with a uti (this she wont have to worry about because she is a virgin)
not changing a pad, pantyliner, or tampon frequently enough
to get rid of a uti u have to urine alot and a big helper is 100% cranberry juice (ocean spray) drink tons of it and always wipe yourself in the right direction. there is also an over the counter medicine that helps get rid of uti's and if it gets too bad please see a doctor
a yeast infection comes from and over production of bacteria and a high ph level in your vagina. a good way to get rid of a yeast infection is to see a doctor or use an otc medicine such as monostat or even plain yougurt.

Yes girls of all ages get yeast infections.Even newborns and toddlers get yeast infections. They cause white discharge, itching, and irritation.People of all ages can also get UTI's.She needs to go to the doctor and tell her symptoms. They probably won't do an exam just give her cream or Diflucan which is a one pill that stays in your system for 72 hours to clear up yeast infection. She could also try eating yogurt which has "good bacteria" in it to help clear this yeast up.The irritation from the yeast infection could be causing her urine to burn her vagina when she urinates. She still should be checked for a UTI and thats as easy as peeing in a cup.Hope this helps. You seem like a good friend.Young girls are often to scared to tell parents these symptoms because their parents may think they are sexually active but yeast and UTI are not sexually related.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:
https://bitly.im/aMB79
Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

yes, these have nothing to do with sex or age. Yeast infection you can get from wearing wet bathingsuits too long, or not wearing breathable underwear (100%cotton is the best "breathable" underwear) UTI i dont know too much about how you get it but I know any age can get it (I had one when I was four, then again when I was 20)All I know is you have to pee every 5 minutes, there's only a couple drops and it hurts everytime you go! Yeast infection is a itchy milky discharge.

Yes. We all have yeast there naturally. It just grows and gets out of hand sometimes. Age doesn't matter. I remember when my daughter had a UTI at age 1.

yes, age has no part of it at the age of 13 a girl is making the transition to womanhood so the estrogen levels are high and that could throw off her whole system and cause it. the need for more concentration on what u eat and drink can help as well as personal hygiene from hence forth.

yes it is regardless as to whether she is a virgin or not these are infections that can set up and cause great amounts of pain refer her to a doc to be for sure this is the problem though because it could be a number of other things as well. it could be pelvic inflammatiry disease or even an allergic reaction to something else.
