Has anyone invited a friend over and they just don't know when to leave?
If so what did you do to make them leave? or did you just sit around and wait until they left on their own?

The best thing to do is say that you are heading out to your relatives house and take your keys and walk out with them, drive off...go around the block, and come back after they left. :-)
It really works

When I invite someone over, I tell them ahead of time when they have to leave. Not in a mean way, though. I just say on the phone, "Do you want to come over from ------ to -------?" So I really don't have that problem. Usually when they don't leave, it's because they rock and I'm having too much fun and I don't want them to leave.

Yea. Some people just don't know when its time, so they leave it up to you to say something. But don't be mean about it, just politely ask them to go home, tell them you got some things to do. Or if that don't work with out being to mean to your friend tell them you bout to leave, and they cant come. But never just sit there and do nothing, because if you do you will never get rid of that person, and they will Neva wanna leave.

I told him he was a cool guy, but if he's gonna stick around this long, he's gonna have to start paying rent or start cleaning the house and doing dishes... Whichever he prefers.

Wait, are you talking about one day? Why invite someone over if you can't even stand them fore one day?? Tell them it's getting late and you'd like to get some sleep... Or if you can't even wait until night to let them go... Damn, don't even invite the person! Tell them you have to run some errands...

I usually just wait till they leave on their own, but that has been a bad thing before. I have family that will stay till 2 am if they can get away with it.

Lots of times. I just stand up and say in a kind of light hearted voice, "I hate to throw you out now but I have to ______ now", and I fill in the blank with the absolute truth (fix dinner, go to bed, go somewhere else, etc.). I think most people would appreciate the truth rather than find out later that they inconvenienced you.

Nah I love having my friends over, so I never ask them to leave. They just leave of their own accord.

Sometimes they stay over all weekend, which is pretty cool too.

But if you would like them to leave, just say so.

This is extreme, but perhaps you could start to feel sick and excuse yourself to go to the bathroom? Then you take it from there.

Have to get up early? Need to do some homework or some other kind of work you brought home?
