Today's robots can already have a normal conversation with humans however they cannot express their opinion on a certain topic. It might take a while before someone writes a kick a&& program to mimic the human brain.

One thing we need to keep in mind that no matter how fast a computer chip can calculate, it still can't think. Just google "talking robot" or something like that and you will find tons of articles that might explain you better.

Oh yeah, you might want to look at Artificial Intelligence (AI). Search for it ;)

Voice recognition and conversations already take place with computers that possess AI - Artificial Intelligence. There is such a system already. Although it is used for medical diagnosis, and there are a few applications in other areas.

Recently, my computer started talking to me. I couldn't believe it at first. But it's true. I made a video of it to prove it. If you're interested, look at this video:

I think it is pretty scary stuff. My computer just started talking back to me. She refuses to respond to any commands unless I say "Please". I think the computer has taken this Voice and Speech Recognition a little too far. I made a video of this. Check it out.

The computer would need artificial intelligence. Once you perfect this AI, then yeah, it can give you its opinion on anythingl

On a Mac you can open and run certain programs using your voice. You can even ask it to tell you a joke and it will tell a knock knock joke.
