I have all the Sims 1 EPs and have two EPs of Sims 2 so far.
Game play in Sims 1 is still amazing to me since there are so many things to explore in the game that I haven't yet seen.
Sims 2 is my favorite of the two sims series, because the personalities and behavior have so much more depth (eh, as much as one can have in a Sim anyway) than in Sims 1. In contrast, when I play Sims 1, it's sort of like controlling robotic little ants (which sort of have personalities). When I play them it's more with a feeling about sort of action or 'experiment' can I do next? Sometimes they are very funny.
With Sims 2, there's a lot more autonomous stuff going on and different surprises. Playful sims can be wacky cos when they need to be doing something serious (or so you think) if you're not checking on them, you can find them playing pirate in the bathtub or jumping up and down on beds or on the sofa. If a playful sim gets hungry and wants to cook something, sometimes they get distracted and the stove ends up catching on fire.
Social, sloppy or outgoing sims may do things that make the rest of the sims go on gossiping about them. Toddler sims that have learned how to walk might break out of their cribs when they want out.
To me it's kind of like comparing a 9 inch B&W TV to a 3 foot plasma color TV. So the Sims 2 gets my vote for my 'liking it more', although I'm not bored with Sims 1. I think it is the complexity of the animations, the 3D, the personalities, the 'what if' experiments one can do and other such things that I find interesting to play and observe.

i did no longer play Sims one million that plenty. I greater often than not purely centred on one character who substitute right into a monogamous police female with a touch uninteresting life. In Sims 2, i substitute into everywhere. My well-liked substitute right into a character who I considered a 'witch' (male or woman) who'd befriend different Sims, then invite them over and kill them, in lots of cases by applying drowning. the two that, or i might get them in tiny rooms, delete the door, and replace the wall to something of the dwelling house with a fence. i might get a team of them and characteristic myself a human zoo. easily, i'm an exceptionally civil guy or woman who does no longer injury a fly, and now that i think of relating to the opportunity of a real human zoo, the very concept disgusts me. The Sims is fullyyt a game.

The Sims 2 is cool and all but you can't say a sequel is better than the first, it just isn't right. I love both games, but yeah.. sims 1 is the best.

I know what it is, but I dont have it. I have The Sims Delux Edition and The Sims Vacation. The Sims is where you build a person or family and controll their lives.

I think Sims 2 is better because instead of selecting different commands, you move around as the character, plus there are some better looking clothes and hair styles.
