I am a gemini female and my first love was a cancerian male. It was a beautiful, loving, agonising, deep, intense and destructive relationship that made me feel like my soul had grown and stretched giving me an emotional maturity of someone 10 years older although we were together collectively for 3 yrs. I was only 20 when I met him and we broke up and got back together 4 times. So our relationship actually stretched over a period of 4 and a half years.

I think Gemini and Cancer do attract each other strongly and that it could definitely work, but there are things that both star signs do that fundamentally do not agree with the other. Cancer is a Water sign, and Gemini is Air, so our tendency to be flighty and distracted can be annoying to a Cancerian who are notoriously moody. It takes a huge amount of maturity and self sacrifice to make a relationship like that work and we were both too young and fucked each other up quite a lot. I was quite flirty and he had trust issues anyway so that didn't help (Cancers are very sensitive as well). In turn that made me jealous of him getting any attention but the love that we had for each other was so deep and intense that I think that if you are really attracted to this guy - to give it a go. If I had met him later in life i think we could still be together although that is speculation.
