Hey Dude...., it sounds real sad. Am a lil bit aware of the electronica scene in US. Its pretty simple ppl jus don't wanna proceed to the next level. Moreover all over the world Electronic music has no much Commercial value other than being played at pubs, discs, clubs n raves. Ppl really don't have that mentality to understand these kinda music. U know what.., its a pretty sad scene here in India (which happens to b the land where trance revolution took place). No one knows about electronica xcept for few ravers n stoners. Am a trance dj doin my production n djing here in a city called Bangalore. Here its hard for u to listen to some good trance even if u go to the best club.I play strictly psytrance :) . Hope days would change. N ppl open up their mind.

Could not agree with you more. Now days all you hear is the same 10 hip-hop or death metal songs over and over. I spent a month in London England and the music on the radio stations is outstanding. They play trance, house, and great club remixes all the time. If you want the top dance songs go to BBC Radio 1 website.

While I'm not a tremendous fan of this genre of music, it really depends on where your from. Europeans would feel well out of sorts, as their used to Paul Van Dyke and many other artist of the such.
(BTW I live in Miami)
Really, the main thing is that very few companies like ClearChannel own a large portion of the radio stations in the United States, so you tend to have repitition and the same types of music played, even though of course, cultural values come into account as well.

in the late 90s the only way i'd hear new electronic music was on MTV's AMP, but that show doesn't come on anymore. i miss that. now music is all about what's marketable to teens. electronic music isn't marketable unless it's used to sell a volkswagon.

Not me. I like good old fashioned instruments. If I wanted to listen to a computer spout off digital music, I'd go to a dance club.

I think there is a lack of good music played in the US in general, no matter the style or type.

I agree with you and that is why I bought Sirius, thinking about it there are so many DJ's out there that are good and don't need big record companies. I really think that aren't played as much because they don't bring in as much money as Hip-Hop, R&B, Rock, etc.

Sirius has the same deal, although none of the stations seem to cater to hardcore industrial fans (me).

There are plenty of clubs in LA that play that type of music.
