Yes, and lots of it. Rules tend to protect fruit grown in Canada. So you aren't transporting bugs, germs, fungi, whatever that our crops can catch.
The biggest local fruit crop is probably apples. But we don't grow oranges, bananas, pineapples, etc. (Oh, I see you are Canadian and would know what we grow.)
check the link and the table: (lol you have a250 kg - 500 pound limit)
"All items must be clean and free of pests, soil and roots.
Fresh fruits: tropical -- 250 kg/person
U.S. Temperate fruits (e.g. those grown in Canada) -- Restricted"

Quick answer: No!
If you fly in from Hawaii, you can bring in pineapples that you purchase from an airport approved vendor, who supplies fruit that is certified okay and meets Dept. of Agriculture standards. Anything else, from anywhere else (especially if it's something you bought at a grocery store or from a farm or highway stand) and the answer is no.
Sorry --there's some great stuff out there that would be wonderful to bring home, but it's just not allowed. We've had to dump a bag of oranges at the Canada-US border, and they don't even grow orange trees in Canada, but some of the mites and diseases that oranges are susceptible to can infect or infest Canadian orchards.

Mostly not. Unless it is an apple from tropics. The noticeable size will let you be searched for the item, but if it is small it will pass through easily.
size matters in this.

Fruit gets mushy when you freeze it, but it's still good for use as a topping on pancakes, waffles, or icecream. You could also use is as filling in a pie.

If you're flying from Hawaii you can have your fruit checked on and can pick it up with your luggage. Don't know about other locations, though. Good Luck!
