it's leaking and i'm wondering if oil leaks on a 1989 mercedez benz can be repaired (even if only temporarily) by clearing the oil then adding some kind of seal? is it possible to do it myself? what is the sealer called?

if i can seal this leak, the car can be saved so please help!!!

that year model mercedez was natorious for leaks at the front of the valve cover gasket where the timing chain is. Solution to problem: remove valve cover gasket, use high temp silicone and place a bead on both the right and left front corners of the gasket.

It needs to be repaired. Any "sealer" you may find could do much more damage than a leak. Keep an eye on your oil level and it doesn't matter if it does leak a little.
