This is for a novel I'm currently working. Any information would be great and used for research purposes only. (I did go to Arizona in January 05 though.)

The seaside cliffs are near the coves at Saguaro lake.

Obviously your trip to AZ in 2005 made quite an impression.

Not yet. California is still hanging on. If you mean cliffs that resulted from ancient seas in the area, maybe, but I can't think of anywhere that you'll hear waves crashing, if that's what you're looking for. Plenty of beautiful mountains (with and without snow).

Wait! There's a really creepy place that I drove called the Apache Trail. We started in Globe, AZ and drove toward Phoenix. It was high enough for me, narrow, no guard rails and in parts was gravel. Seriously! I don't know if it's still like that, but I do know when I was finished, my hands were cramped from holding the wheel so tight. We even met a Coke truck coming through (not something you want to see driving around a curve) and I'm pretty sure there was at least 1 one-lane bridge.

I was thinking about Lake Mead, too, and Lake Powell, though I never went, looked stunning in pics.

Definitely - the seas that created them are long gone but the cliffs are still there.
Get a hold of a book called Roadside Geology of Arizona and it will tell you where they are located.

There is no sea in Arizona but there may be cliffs around Lake Mead or Lake Powel.
