Having cut the tags off of mine a few years ago, I too didn't know how to wash it.

Mine is not a down comforter, so I took the chance of washing it at home. I washed it in cool water with just a touch of detergent (about two Tbs, possibly). After it was done, I put it through the rinse cycle again. Once it was done with that, rather than put it in the dryer (though I'm sure you could), I hung it outside to dry. When you hang it outside though, be careful. I hung it on a rod that was rather dirty... So my comforter that was clean now has some spots on it.

First of all, read the label as it may be dry clean only.

If it's washable, go to the laundromat and use the industrial size washing machine and follow label instructions. You might have to check a few laundromats as they all don't have the big machines.

It depends on the material - some have to be dry clean only - but most you can just throw into the washing machine!@

First check the label to see if it is washable. Depending on the size, you may be able to do it in your washer but if too big take it to the laundry matt and do it in the big washer.

Take it to a Laundromat. Use the biggest washer they have.
