It cost me $1000 total, and that was 4 1/2 years ago. My vision went from 20/400 to 20/20 in two minutes and I've had no real problems since. Getting LASIK was one of the best things I've ever done.

I was going to get lasik but the doctor told me I had to get a PRK surgery since I had astigmatism. I paid 1400 for both eyes and my vision is now 20/20. PRK has more advantages but has a painful recovery. 3 days of hell, but well worth it.

I had it done at a very reputable clinic, and it was 3500$. Most insurance companies will cover all of it or a portion of it. Mine paid 80% and my total out of pocket costs were 300 for travel to get there and home as well as one night in a hotel, because I couldn't expose my eyes, and 700 for the actual surgery.

When I had it it was 1500.00 per eye. Now prices have dropped. It can be as low as 900.00 for both. Be sure to find an eye surgeon who does this, not a mall shop. It is your eyes, select a place carefully.
