One hypothesis states that they can travel by the rearrangement or compression of space-points. But you have to assume that space has structure.

Most forces travel through a medium.
Sound waves, and heat are phonon forces that travel by pushing a cushion of gas or fluid forward.
Electric forces travel by pushing electrons around.
Actually, everything else in nature that you will encounter is actually a manifestation of those two.
Light is the only force that can travel without a medium, but the forces it creates with its impact is so low that you don't actually "feel" it.

They are pulled by gravity and anti matter in a circular orbit. Every planet exist as a circle. Even asteroids travel in a circular orbit of some kind, although they are not always circular. Particle forces travel in waves, beta, delta, gamma and alfa.

The current idea is that forces travel via the exchange of momentum carried by little particles. Hence the effort to quantize gravity.
