BTY if it was a crime, the penelty should not be extreme, just a fine and posted in a public paper for 1 month at the persons expense.

Yes, of course it should be. And the punishment should become even more and more harsh with each offense.
It should be viewed as despicable as child molestation.

I don't think it should be a crime again because you wouldn't have enough jails to house the millions of people committing it.
I respect the sanctity of marriage and if adultery is committed then you have more than enough grounds for a divorce.
Our resources can be better spent somewhere else instead of building more jails to house adulterers and yes you will need more jails because it will again not be enough cells to house all the adulterers in the world.
Not to include you will need more courthouses and judges to even prosecute the cases.
I want the jail cells to be left open for the thieves, murderers, molesters , and others who committed serious crime.

Yes I do think it should be a federal offense. Jail time baby !
they used to brand women with the scarlet letter! They should
brand both men and women cheaters ! I also think that if a woman knows the man she is messing around with is
married! then she should be sued for alienation of affection !
and this should be allowed in all 50 states. She/he should be sued all moneys lost to other spouse. And both offenders should be brand! As to show public humiliation for their wrong deeds!!!!

It is considered a crime, but you can only use it if you have proof and you can use it for grounds for a divorce. Other than that it's not a crime. Double Standard.
I am married and I have never cheated on my husband.

No, I don't think it should be a crime at all.
I'm not married, did not 'cheat' on my ex-husbands even though they had other women.

No, I think this is for the involved parties to resolve. The law should not get involved.
