The pinging increases when I give it throttle and is very light during idle. I checked the oil and am fine. Other than that I am completely out of ideas. I don't know much about bikes so please help!!!

Have timing checked. Run premium gas, 91 octane or better, before, during and after.

engine knock sensor. It is adjusting to the gas incorrectly.

...getting a higher octane grade petrol/gas would help.

one of the mice has fell off the wheel and is banging around

i would have to agree that the fuel octane would have to be a bit higher.....

the belts... either need to be tightened or replaced altogether
