Without any info about hair/eye/skin colors, very hard to advise!!

It depends, really. If you have brown eyes, stay away from brown shadows (they'll only make your eyes look muddy) b'cause there won't be enough contrast. Use: pink, beige, lavender, lilac, gray, green, gold, silver: any would be nice. Use a highlighter, too, in the eye area to open them up (at either side).

Mascara can be in a color like gold or green or blue or your typical black.

Eyeliner again depends on eye color, but don't use heavy, thick black eyeliner because in my opinion that doesn't really flatter, especially not on a special occasion.

The last time I wore a formal dress it was black and glittery and I was going out at night. I think it depends on if you'll be out at night or day time. I always think smokey effects look best with formal wear....since the dress is white you probably wouldn't want to do a dramatic effect with black...but maybe purples or mauves would look nice....make sure it all blends well and that it compliments you skin tone as well. Also you could try to use some colors of your jewelry or if you plan on putting accessories in your hair.....

Depends on your eye/ hair/ skin color. For instance a person with blue eyes works well with plum shades of makeup. a white dress is the perfect backdrop to not have worry about matcing colors and really show off your features. Just keep it light - big bold dramatic makeup will actually wash you out in that color.

It depends on your eye color, and you want to go for a night time look! If you have blue eyes go for a rich brown and highlight with a light color right under the brow and at the inside corner of your eyes put a shimmer white. Of course the brown only goes to the crease. If you have brown eyes use a smoke gray instead of brown.

wow. good answer, buddy (below) lol. well i would go with some smokey dark colors, greys, smokey blues and purples that aren't too intense in the brightness. grey liner that is well blended take the blue along the lash line and blend the purple onto the lid and a little into the blue. make sure the grey is shimmery and take that into the crease of the lid and somewhat to a point. find a shimmery white/light skin tone and blend it along the lower brow line. black mascara perferably with a primer.

what kind of event is it? that makes a difference on whether you should stick to sutble colors like shimmery pinks, beiges, that sort of thing or something more dramatic. depending on your skin tone, and eye color, a white or gold could look really good.
the shimmer or pearl type colors look really nice with pretty much everything. (stay away from glittery or dull colors). have fun with your eye make-up!
stick to brown or black mascara (depending on your haircolor and whether you're feeling dramatic). it's best to do eyeliner in the same color that your mascara is. but, if you're using balck mascara it looks just as nice to do a "charcoal" or softer black rather than the ultra black eyeliner. some people CAN pull off somewhat heavy back liner and black or black-ish shadow, if it's done properly and with the right outfit, it is something that not everybody can wear (or would even want to!) but i've done it a number of times, and it looked amazing. personally, that's what i would wear with any sort of white dress...but i've been pretty lazy with my eyemake-up, and sticking to the basic black mascara, liner and shadow.

Its very cool to try false eyelashes and a little bit of light shimmer eyeshadow. The lashes will make your eyes
POP
without being overloaded with makeup.

what color eyes do you have... i think you should make your eyes pop out so find a color that contrast your eye color. for instance i have green eyes so if i want the color to stand out i wear something in the purple or red family. go to a makeup counter and have them help you. mac cosmetics is a fun youthful makeup brand and they are so helpful and fun to work with.

neutrals or shimmers..usually anything will look good with a white dress...what color is the jewelry? Or your shoes? You could match your makeup to your accessories.
