There are 100 cm in a meter.
Here's a trick: every unit right beside each one (like mm & cm, cm & dm, they are right beside each other) in length is 10 as a step to continue.
So, 1 cm is 10mm,
1 dm is 10 cm.
Here's a chart to help u remember:
mm--cm--dm--m; Note: 1km=1000m

"cent" means 100.... centipede has 100 legs, there are 100 cents in a dollar, 100 years in a century, percent is some fraction of 100, etc.
