Some are, some aren't. Being fat not only comes from eating too much, but also by not having the metabolism to do anything. If you sit around and eat all day and don't do anything to burn off the calories, of course you'll get fat. All of that food has nowhere to go except for being stored as fat. My bf is the same way, he doesn't do a damn thing and wonders how he got so big. Believe it or not, he doesn't eat a lot, but he has an extremely low metabolism. Sometimes I eat way too much, but I always manage to burn off what I eat. Metabolism is the key to losing weight.

I am a fat person. I weigh 21 stone. I am a size 26 in clothes and Im 5ft6 tall.
The reason that I am fat is to do with 2 things. 1 is that last year I was on some medication and one of the side affects is putting on weight. The other reason I am fat is because I dont eat ENOUGH food. Because of my illness I dont feel hungry and so then when I do eat my body stores it as fat, it thinks i better store this coz I dont know when Im going to get any more.
That is my story of why I am fat. but not everyone is the same.

Some people have underlying medical conditions or medication that cuases them to retain fat.
The majority, however, eat too much unhealthy food and don't get much exercise. Eating right at moderate daily exercise should keep a normal persons weight down.
It should also be said that fat people are not just unpleasent to look at, but they are also unhealthy. Having extra weight puts a strain on the body and leads to numerous other problems.

In some cases yes in my case no. I couldn't understand why I kept putting on weight but was only eating little amounts. I then started weight watchers and realised I was eating the wrong sort of foods. I am now eating the right things (eg I make sure that I have 5 portions of fruit and veg per day, at least three meals with fish a week) and I am actually eating more than I used to but have so far lost 1st7lb!! And my skin has improved substantially. I used to have greasy spotty skin, which is now clear!

That's often the case, but not always. Generally one gains weight when more calories are consumed than the body burns...although overeating is the primary cause of weight gain, there are other things that can cause a person's metabolism (how fast the body burns calories) to function slowly or imperfectly, and therefore there are people who don't "overeat" but burn calories so slowly that they gain weight anyway.
Some medications are responsible for people gaining weight (when they eat as they always have, but suddenly start gaining)...thyroid or other medical issues can also cause weight gain or make it quite difficult to lose weight...
So don't always assume a fat person is someone who is simply lazy and stuffs their face all day...even those that overeat, often have emotional issues or something behind the 'reason' they overeat...and it can be tough to get beyond those issues on ones own, and take charge of one's life and health...

I'm fat, I don't eat a lot but I don't exercise enough to lose weight.
I grew fat by drinking lots of alcoholic drinks. Since giving up drinking I lost 4 stones.

certain types of medication makes people fat
like stuff for depression and psychosis, just look at the homeless people living in lower wacker drive, they go for days without eating and roam the city all day and are still very fat, those types of meds mess up hormones really bad, and cause human cells to divide and multiply at an astounding rate, that is why it is just being discovered that these meds are believed to also cause breast cancer, because of the abnormal divide and multiply rate

That sounds like a bit of a ridiculous question.... if you eat healthy and exercise you are not going to be fat unles you are one of the 3% who actualy have a medical problem.
