What are we going to do about it to slap them back? Is there nothing to be done?

I think the only way we can "slap them back" is if more Americans would drive as little as possible, thus reducing the demand. Otherwise, there is nothing else we can do. My husband and I drive a Saturn and only fill it once a month. It costs us over $30.00 to fill it now, more than 3 times what it did 7 years ago. Congress makes a lot of noise about investigating price gouging by the oil companies, but nothing ever comes of it.

Drive as little as possible. Do 55 MPH it saves on gas. Car pool as much as possible. Public transportation if available.
I just spent $4.50 for 1.5 gal of gas to cut the grass, if it goes up any more, I'm seriously considering getting a goat or two.

Use less gas. Supply and demand works both ways. Although, with what BP just did, I think the oil companies are trying to manipulate the supply since they think the demand is unlimited....

Sure. Go discover some more oil. It's supply & demand, don't you get it? You might as well ask, "What are we going to do to slap back gold prices?"
