It is so funny because it is ridiculous. Napoleon Dynamite has that dry humor. He is the way he is and he doesn't try to be funny, but how he acts and how he comes across is hilarious to others.

I think its so funny because we have all (most of us) been to high school and remember how much that experience sucked, and what it was like to be in Napoleons situation

I don't know if 'funny' is the right word to describe this film, as it is quite painful in places; but I loved it. Anyone know if there is going to be a sequel? The extras on the dvd hinted at it.

I think you either get it, or you don't. If you don't, it just isn't your type of humor.
I liked it because Napolean is so unique and loveable despite of or maybe because of how different he is.
The slow, realistic pace of it just works for me, too.
I think we all know someone like him, or knew someone like him we now wish we paid more attention to.
....and the word numchucks alone makes me laugh!
