Typically they charge $1.50 per mile. If there are other people who are transporting then it will be less. Be careful who you have ship them because some comapnies take terrible care of the horses. Find one through your trainer that you can trust.

Most of the shipping companies will give estimates. There are several that I know people who have used. They were very happy with theservie. Be sure that they are insured and all that good stuff. Try googling horse shipping. Most will do quotes right over the web. Good luck.

Paying a shipping company to haul a horse you will probably end up having to pay around $1.00 per mile. Find another horseowner who also owns a pickup truck and trailer and you can probably cut a deal for little more than paying for the fuel and the time it takes for the trip.

I had a friend that shipped from Mississippi to Washingtion state and it was around $1500 a horse. That was 6 years ago and diesal was alot lower. I'd be willing to say it would be in the $600 range for your distance. If you call, I'm sure they would be more than happy to give you a rate. Here's a shipper that I actually see on the road alot www.horse-express.com , maybe try them first. I believe that's who my friend used, and they were great.

There are many horse farms in Vermont. For one horse I'd try to find someone near your college. Maybe someone at the college knows.

I don' know a "normal" rate, but you can Google "horse transportation" or "horse haulers", and email the business, and they can give you a quote.
I know someone who had their horse hauled from California to Washington state, in an actual box stall, and it cost around $500 or so.

Usually about 1.00 to 2.00 per mile, with insurance it could be more. get a good company and if you can try to ride with them in your own vechile but follow them what ever to make sure that if something happens you are there to help your horse. I know I would be with mine.

i'm not sure but it would probably be cheaper to find someone with a horse trailer and pay them to do it.
