Steps:
1. Stick with the basics: The experts suggest cleansing your face two or three times daily with good old soap and water. Pack a premoistened cleansing pad if you won't be around a water basin throughout the day.

2. Understand that dermatologists and aestheticians often disagree on which types of soaps or cleansers to use'but all agree that once you find a product that works well for your skin, you should continue using it.

3. Follow the recommendations of dermatologists and shower or bathe in tepid rather than steaming-hot water. Hot water can strip your skin of needed moisture, while cold water can shock your skin.

4. Avoid using cleansers that tend to overdry skin. This paradoxically causes your skin to produce even more oil than usual.

5. Use only noncomedogenic moisturizers and sunscreen products'this means they're oil-free and won't clog pores.

6. Talk to your dermatologist about a class of drugs called retinoids, which reduce production in oil glands and shrink their size.

7. Keep in mind that oil glands are very sensitive'stimuli such as hormones, heat and (some say) fatty food can trigger them.

8. Remember that your efforts to keep your oily skin clear can only go so far, as some studies indicate that oily skin is hereditary.

Warnings:
Constant breakouts may indicate that you have acne or another skin condition. Contact your dermatologist for medical advice and guidance.

* You should avoid eating fried and cheesy food. (for health, too, of course)
* You should an astringent instead of milk while cleansing your face. You should apply an astringent before doing make-up. Doing this will lessen the oily look on face.
* Apply on your face a mixture of cucumber juice and lemon juice mixed in the same proportion.
* Take a piece of tomato and rub it on your face for removing blackheads.
* Before food have a lime juice mixed with crushed ginger.
* Apply a mixture of rosewater, lemon juice and multani mitti on your face and after it gets dry remove or wash it off.
* Make a mixture of 1 spoon curd,1 spoon tomato juice, 1 spoon multani mitti, 1 spoon honey and little amount of kapur. Apply this mixture on your face.
* Take a mixture of apple juice and drops of lemon juice and apply on your face. Wash this mixture from the face after 10-15 minutes.
* Rub your face with ice-cubes and you can also try ice water mixed with lime juice and wash the face with this mixture

If you use a moisturizer, make sure that it is water based rather than oil based. An oil based product can compound your existing skin problems and offers more heavy duty moisture than your skin needs. Look for a moisturizer that is labeled non-comedogenic, as this kind of product will minimize the risk of acne and clogged pores that often go hand in hand with your skin type. Reigning in your moisturizer is an important step towards smooth, grease free skin. Try cutting down on the number of applications per week. For people with oily skin types, moisturizer is rarely necessary more than once every three or four days. It's important not to skip moisturizer altogether, however; as the powerful cleansers that are designed to tackle oily skin can sometimes strip your face of the moisture it needs in order to stay resilient and strong. Without a little bit of extra help from a light, water based moisturizer, certain areas of your face may become prone to dryness and flaking.

If cutting back on moisturizer and following a regular cleansing regimen isn't enough to keep your skin under control, there may be hope in the form of a new kind of makeup. One cosmetic product that is a relatively new idea is a kind of matte finish gel designed to seal your face by absorbing oil. The gel goes on in a thin, imperceptible layer underneath regular makeup and will soak up any excess grease that your skin produces during the day. Several cosmetic companies produce gels of this type, including mainstream brands like Revlon and Cover Girl. If you have just a few areas where oil tends to seep through your makeup, try lightly applying the gel to just those spots to help you keep a shine free face. If you need heavy duty help to keep your t-zone from getting greasy, a matte finish gel may be the solution to your problem.

I can't agree with the washing the above answerers recommend.
You should only wash your face in the morning and then at night.
The excessive washing will stimulate oil control as it dries your skin.
I have oily skin and here's what works:
Wash your face with a mild cleanser made especially for oily skin.
Use toner - no alcohol base - to tighten pores.
Apply oil control moisturizer - the best one so far on the market is Cosmedicine Medi -Matte. It smoothes the skin, works like a foundation primer and really matifies the skin. I find that the shine stays away much longer after I use it.
If you start getting shiny, do not wash!
Use bloting sheets - they are little sheets of tissue that absorb the oil without rubbing off your makeup. Just gently press to your t-zone. In a pinch you can use a clean toilet seat cover - they are made of thin tissue and will not leave a residue on your skin.
At night, after cleaning, use a toner and a night cream designed to control oil, prefereably with Retinol ( I use Help Me from Philosophy), it will help shrink pores and speed up dead cell exfoliation, which prevents breakouts.
Whatever you do - do not overdo it.
As to food - it really doesn't have anything to do with your skin.
Anything happening to your skin is hormonal, so appropriate supplements like vitamins and minerals really help.
And as funny as it sounds, taking fish oil caplets will help your skin.
And don't worry - women with oily skin stay wrinkle-free much longer than any other skin type.
Good luck!

It all depends on your skin. You really need to try different products to find out what works for your skin. It can depend on your age too. One of the best things you can do is internal - lay off sugary things (soda, candy) drink large amounts of water. I tried using an herbal treatment (a basil infusion in which you simply put dried basil into hot water and let the steam go into your face - time consuming, but helpfull). There is also Tea Trea Oil, when used in extremly small amounts has an intense drying effect on your skin. A little pricey, but definatly affective to use for up to 2 weeks at a time, then your skin needs a break from the dryness. Your goal is not to totally dry out your skin, but to help it to even itself out. It really does make a difference with what you are eating and drinking (i.e heavy or greasy foods, sugars). I had the same problem and I never believed any of that had an effect, but it really does.
I currently use St. Ives Medicated Apriot Scrub once every morning, and Neutrogena Facial Moisturizer (oil-free). Try to make sure that any product you use on your face is oil-free. When you use anything heavy on your face it will over-dry it, and using an oil-free moisturizer will help with dry skin patches, also this particular neutrogena product helps acne clear up quickly.
Once you find what works the best for your skin type, stick with it. Changing it will mess everything up again.
Hope you find what you need!

Try this about every 2nd day, its inexpensive and you can do it at home!
1. Boil some water and pour it in a large bowl
2. Put your face over the bowl so the steam rizes on your face
3. Put a towel over your head and the bowl
4. Do this for about 5 minutes
5. After that, dab your face with the towel to remove excess water
6.When your face is dry, rub an ice cube all over you face to close your pores and voila!

p.s If you do, stop eating chips.♥

Drop a little lemon juice on a cotton ball and swipe it over your entire face. That will balance the Ph of your skin. Also wash your face every night with a cleanser for "oily skin" and stay away from greasy foods. Avoid touching your face of letting anybody else touch it excessively. NEVER touch face with unclean hands. That's some advice I can give you. I hope it helps ya! :-)

The biggest tip I can give is to moisturize, it might sound wierd bc you have oily skin, but the reason your skin is oily is bc your skin does'nt have moisture and is producing oils to try to fix the lack of moisture. Anyway I use Olay Complete for combination/ oily skin, it is oil free and also has oil absorbing powders in it. Good Luck!

never use milk based face pastes
u can use lemon drops in a paste as it will reduce
the oiliness on ur face... cucumber also works wonders
n rubbing tomato also as it is of acidic nature n removes the oil.
then u use a hydrating cream or a cream which gives a dry or matt finish.
wash ur face with warm water twice or thrice a day. also use a good sunscreen
lotion. but please dont use milk on ur face as I have noticed it causes
pimples on oily skin. hope this helps

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with torres, you shouldn't wash your face as many times as possible, 2 times a day and a facial once a week is best. If you wash your face too much your skin will overcompensate and produce more oil, which could cause breakouts.

~SKINCARE~

-You will need: Cleanser, Toner (or Astringent), Cotton Balls, Moisturizer, Mask (or Masque), Extractor (found at most beauty supply stores), and either a facial steamer or hand towel for steaming.

-Morning and night (before going to bed): cleanse, tone, and moisturize. For blackheads, clogged pores, etc. 2-3 times a week include steaming in these steps (in this order: cleanse, tone, steam, tone, moisturize). It's best that you stick with ONE product line formulated specifically for your skin type. Even though you have oily areas, you may have combination skin (which can be 2 or more of all of the skin types). Determine your skin type: http://1stholistic.com/Beauty/skin/skin_skin_types.htm

~Recommended Products~

-FOR OILY SKIN (Oily in T-zone and other areas):
*Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask, Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil-Controlling Astringent, Neutrogena Oil-free Moisture SPF 15, & Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Scrub - the Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask can be used as both a daily cleanser and for your mask in your weekly facial.

-FOR COMBINATION SKIN (2 or more of these conditions: dry, oily, sensitive, breakouts, etc.)
Fresh Foaming Cleanser., Neutrogena® Alcohol-Free Toner , Oil-Free Moisture for Combination Skin, Neutrogena Deep Clean™ Gentle Scrub, Neutrogena Clear Pore™ Cleanser/Mask (for oily and/or blemish prone areas), & Hydrating Facial Cloth Mask (http://www.neutrogena.com/Content_79.asp).

*see this link: http://www.neutrogena.com/face.asp?mainv... click on cleansers, toners, moisturizers, & treatments to view the products

-Once a week: cleanse, tone, steam, exfoliate, tone, *extractions, tone, mask, tone, moisturize. *IF NEEDED, for blackheads, pimples, etc, Don't begin doing extractions until you have been following all of the other steps for at least . weeks, so that the steaming will have caused any tough blemishes to begin to soften.

-How to: *
Cleanse -use a small amount and lather with water, apply using circular motions all over face and neck, repeat if you have makeup on
Tone - Squeeze a small amount onto the cottonball and wipe all over face and neck
Steam - for 10-15 minutes, use one of these methods - facial steamer, hold your face 3-5 inches above steaming water, or drape a hot towel over your face (leaving your nostrils and/or mouth exposed)
Exfoliate - follow the same steps as in cleansing, but don't repeat
Extractions - place the hoop (or eye) over the blemish (or blackhead) so that the blemish is in the center of the hoop, apply slight pressure and use rocking and rolling movements all around the blemish (don't use so much pressure that you create indentions or bruises on your skin), if and when the blockage comes out of the pore, wipe away with a cottonball that has been dampened with toner
Mask - apply mask evenly on face and neck, leave for 10-15 minutes, remove by draping a hot towel over your face, then wiping away
Moisturize - apply a small amount on face an neck and massage until it's absorbed
*In all of these steps, always avoid the eye area.

~VITAMINS/MINERALS, DIET, & EXCERCISE~
Each day, include a multivitamin for women and try to maintain a fairly healthy diet and exercise routine. Also see this site about vitamins and the skin: http://healing.about.com/library/uc_acne_0209c.htm. If you take any of these vitamins in addition to your multivitamin, be sure you aren’t going over the recommended dosages.
