I think he's a wonderfully talented player. I also think he has a crummy attitude. He's dirty, and he always seems to be sneering. I think it was ill done of him to snub his fans and skip the All Star Game. It isn't like the owners or coaches, or anyone that could be construed as 'The Man" picked him, it was the fans. He CHOSE to be a professional athlete, and he chose to play in the northeast fishbowl. His fans love him, and he shouldn't dis them. Saying "Manny being Manny" is just making an excuse for his poor attitude.

I think he's a great hitter, but that he has such a giant ego that I can't stand him. I mean look at his performance the other night when he was jogging to first on a hit that if he would have been running full out, like a lot of major leaguers do for instance David Eckstein, he would have been safe. Boston has created a monster and he needs to be taken down. And not showing up for the All-star game, give me a brake, he was voted number one by the fans and doesn't even show up to say thank you. Please, he could have at least showed his face and rested his knee.

He's a little lazy at times but other then that he is an all star player. I like him a lot (I'm a red sox fan). There are very few people in the league who can produce his numbers and for that he is ultimately valuable. I wish he would've played the all star game though.

I see him as Big Papi's backup. David ortiz is the reald deal and Manny is his sidekick, kinda like Roger Clemens and Brad Ausmus.

He's a great player and he seems like a pretty good guy from everything I've read or heard about him, although I get REALLY tired of him asking for a trade every off-season.
