I reckon volleyball for a girl seems cooler, especially if you get to do it outside (lol beach volleyball? I'm not from the US). But to be honest if you could I'd join both, you notice most of the really "sporty" types do at least two or three sports, shows you're an all rounder and people respect that. Also, the more you do the fitter you'll become, and the more people you'll get to know - sports are great for expanding your social circle. Just stay away from anything tooo masculine, ie. rugby because it sort of gives off the wrong image.
So if those are the only two options you have by all means do both! At least give them a go and you can drop one if you don't like it or it takes up too much time. Also for general fitness and cos it's fun things like swimming and trampolining are good too.

i currently play both those sports -and they are both amazing - but it depends what you think will better your high school experiene - if you want to become a really good athlete and play through high school - then i defninitly recommend basketball because it puts you in great shape - its a lot more conditioning and hard work - but will get you into great shape...
but volleyball is just as good and if you want to build upper body strength volleyball would center in on that.

You could easily play both. Concentrate on the one you like the most and then maybe later on you'll be really good at that sport. I like basketball.

i played basketball, volleybal, and soccer. Between volleyball and basketball, basketball is my choice. But which one are u better at? Watch a basketball game and a volleyball match, and think about which one you can do easily.

I doubt they actually care approximately grades you made the previous year. even nevertheless, you will ought to pass all your classes and take care of solid grades in freshman year to be waiting to play a sport.
