A quick little bit of knowledge:

The Patriot act, which is hailed as the most instrusive bill into the freedoms and privacy of the American people was written far before 9-11. And G.W. didn't write it. The president isn't responsible for all the laws and bills that get past. That's what the Senate and the House are for. He had the ability to veto it, but when the overwhelming majority of his team approved of it, he did the Presidential thing and sided with his people.

So it's not like he's responsible for all of the civil liberty issues, the privacy issues, etc. There are a lot of people in this government and they all play their roles. I'm not a Bush supporter, but before you go knocking the man learn how your government works and how the job gets done.

Hell NO, Just ashamed my friends and I fight for freedom so freaks like you can say what you want. You think our civil Liberties and rights have been ignore! Go to Iraq and Afghanistan and talk with the people there. Tell them about your little Civil liberty issues. They are just now getting a taste of freedom!

Shut up and sit down and let people run this country the way it should have been done long before 911

I am not a Bush supporter, and his disregard for the constitution and our civil liberties does disturb me. The war on terror is the perfect excuse for someone who thinks we have too much freedom. President Bush, in fact, was once quoted, as president, as saying that some Americans do have too much freedom when he was referring to someone who had set up an anti Bush blog on the internet. Evidently, freedom of speech only extends to those who agree with him. At a Bush reelection campaign speech a man and wife were thrown out and briefly held in custody for wearing a t-shirt with an anti Bush message on the back. It was a public forum where anyone could attend. Dissent if it is aimed at him is something that he cannot abide or tolerate. It is ironic that a president who talks incessantly about spreading freedom around the globe wants to suppress it here.

screwed, the Patriot Act denies people the Constitutional rights of freedom from unlawful search and seizure and the right to a fair trial. The flag desecration amendment, which didn't pass but would have if sanity hadn't prevailed by just one vote, would have destroyed what's left of the First Amendment by making it a crime to even THINK bad things about the government. A number of people have been arrested just for wearing anti-Bush t-shirts or trying to distribute anti-Bush flyers, another First Amendment violation. The proposed gay marriage amendment singles out a minority for discrimination in violation of the well-known "proposition that all men are created equal." As for "spreading freedom around the globe", how can you call it freedom when you forcibly invade and occupy another country? What will it take to wake everyone up to the ongoing attempts to rob us of our freedom?

You mean am I upset that the President will listen in on international calls I might make to the middle-east? Not really. Am I ashamed he tracks international banking transfers to terrorist groups? Personally, I've never made an international transfer. I don't have that kind of money. I am ashamed when I have old socks on and they make me take my shoes off at the airport, does that count?

Hmmm, either my fellow citizens could be murdered by terrorist or have a civil liberty infringed ( if it did happen )? Hmm thats a toughy.

If your refering to the phone thing, well if you were talking to international terrorist I hope that your civil libertiess are infringed and your put in jail.

If your not doing anything wrong, then you have nothing to worry about. Quit your damn complaining hippie !

No proof, no examples, no facts - just a liberal rant. That's all they have, because they have no agenda, no plans, no ideas for the future - they just keep lying and being negative, and they hope that by continually repeating the same crap over and over again, that maybe they themselves might start believing it...

As an American, i could be ashamed to *refuse* to assist anybody who have been elected as head of the country. What might you recommend we do to dodge helping ANY modern-day administration? Withhold our taxes? rebel interior the streets?
