I'm not saying it applies to every women but it sounds plausible, and I read it in a magazine survey last month.

Yes, they teach you how to get one in the same module as they teach you how to cook and clean...where did you hear that? 1953?

I'm going to guess that this is an artefact of the way they worded the question and/or choices. If they had a list and said "Choose all that apply," some women who went to university for other reasons might tick "find a good husband" too, but it would be more of a hope than a goal.

If you're interested in the question, read Betty Freidan's _The Feminine Mystique_. It started with Freidan's observations of young women in a prestigious women's college in the 1950s, many of whom were more interested in getting married than pursuing a career, and looks at all of the societal influences that were leading them in that direction. It's about consumerism, advertising, the 'need' to absorb excess post-war production capacity AND cope with a large number of women who had gotten used to working. What's really scary is that is was published in 1961 and is way too pertinent for today. I learned more from it about today's consumerist society than anything else I've read.

Yes and why not! One should have a good spouse. In paradise one will find very good spouse provided you go there. The first condition is that you do not take partenrs with the True God and do not reduce Him to our level! If you want to know about true and real, one and only God there is no better book or reference than Quran
