We just had our house built a year ago and I have noticed some small cracks in my corners. I was wondering if I just used enough silicone caulk to cover the cracks and repainted would it be fine? Should take care of any more cracks in the corner. Also, our walls are textured and thats why I don't want to attempt to repair them.

Your fix will work just fine, but if you upgrade your material, it will be a permanent fix.

I like O.S.I. Pro-Series Quad polyurethane caulk available at Lowe's or Home Depot for $4.25-4.50 tube (white). This stuff bonds very well, and stretches like crazy. It takes a bit longer to set up than latex caulk and gives you more time to work the material in with your finger. It's paintable within about three hours.

That is normal for a year old house. They usually settle a bit during the early years. Since your walls are textured you could use a silicone caulk just make sure it's a paintable caulk.Phenolseal is a great caulk, give it a try!

i would get some stuff to fill in the cracks and repaint the walls. It might take care of the problem. I hope it doesn't turn into a serious problem with cracks developing in the middle of walls and ceilings.

I wouldn't use slilcone on drywall, it wouldn't soak in far enough to form a good bond. If you're going to be filling cracks in drywall you should at least use a light spackling. Textures aren't hard to do, ask your local Home Depot, they'll be able to tell you exactly how to do it.

what you have planded sounds fine. but are you sure that you want to do it quite yet. if you ga and patch it now and your house settles some more you will have to do it all over agen. you sould be ok for a wile though, so if the cracks are truelly bothering you go a head and fix them.
